We guide on the best Trout rivers in southwestern Vermont!
Vermont offers year around catch & release fishing opportunities. Spring, Summer and Fall we fly fish rivers for Brook, Rainbow & Brown Trout. Winter months (Jan ~ March): Ice fish lakes for Northern Pike and Bass Beginners with realistic expectations are welcome! Learn to Fly or Ice fish with patient coaching. All fishing gear, tackle, waders, and flies are included in the daily guiding rate. Trips are private 4 hour half days. Pictures are best viewed on laptops.

When is the best time to fly fish in southern Vermont?
The best time to fish in Vermont? Catch & release fly fishing for trout is open year round in Vermont. However, April through October is the traditional fly fishing season. During winter months of January through March our focus switches to ice fishing for Northern Pike and Largemouth Bass.
Don’t get overwhelmed by gear, everything you need is provided.
VT fly fishing guides can provide you with everything you need to go fly fishing: an Orvis fly rod reel and stocking foot waders with felt bottom wading shoes, all trout flies, terminal tackle, strike indicators, & leaders.

During winter months, we offer ice fishing trips to fish for Northern Pike and Bass. Ice fishing begins in January and ends mid March.
All gear provided
All equipment is provided. I drill all the holes with a Strike Master 24V Lithium 6” Ice Auger that never gets tired. Tipups will then be baited and set. Target species are Northern Pike, Largemouth Bass, Yellow Perch and Crappie.
Heated shelter
My portable two person shanty is a Clam Nanook XL Thermal flip over. The heater a Mr. Heater Big Buddy propane heater…COLD? I think NOT. With a fishable area of 23 square feet, its very comfortable!
Beginners welcome
You will need to purchase a fishing license online from the State of Vermont. Upon booking I will provide the link. Everything else to enjoy a morning of ice fishing is included in the guide rate. Personalized guidance is my specialty.
